Article V, Section 5.1 enumerates the eligibility for membership in the Federation of Kentucky Academic Libraries. If an academic library meets the following criteria, they can petition to be a member of FoKAL:
Each member library must be part of an institution that:
- Is SACSCOC-accredited or in advanced candidacy status
- Has its principal headquarters in Kentucky
- Is non-profit
In addition, each member library must:
- Have a collection, a librarian, and an acquisitions budget
- Sign and abide by a memorandum of agreement that outlines expectations of membership
The Executive Committee will determine if any applicant is eligible for inclusion in FoKAL using these criteria.
